The engine builder noticed the breather caps and said hey the engine needs to breath more and you shouldnt be using a PCV valve on this engine.

Jun 10, 2002 · I think the official test of the PCV valve is to pinch closed the tube going to it and listen for clicking sound during idle. PCV valves are easily cleaned with carbureator or brake cleaner. I replaced mine with a purolator brand, and the new one was loose in the grommet.

Remove PCV valve by rotating counter-clockwise 90 degrees until locating tabs have been freed. After tabs have cleared, pull valve straight up from intake manifold.
